NABARD sanctions Rs 1134.74-crore RIDF assistance for Odisha


NABARD has sanctioned of Rs 1134.74 Crore to Odisha, including Rs 1040.96 crore for two mega projects in Odisha such as drinking water and lift irrigation.

This sanctioned under NABARD's Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). The meeting of project sanctioning committee held on September 14.

The drinking water supply mega project in fluoride affected blocks like Sinapali, Boden, Khariar, Komna and Nuapada of Nuapada district under RIDF assistance of Rs. 543.63 crore, supply of 100 litres per capita per day (lpcd) of drinking water to 1.50 lakh families.

NABARD also sanctioned 19 lift projects in cluster III involving a RIDF assistance of Rs. 497.33 crore.

These projects will help in increasing the irrigation potentials in the districts of Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir and Jharsuguda.

NABARD also sanctioned seven roads and one bridge projects, implemented in districts of Koraput, Nuapada, Ganjam and Sambalpur.

The sanction of road and bridge projects  (Rs 93.77 crore under RIDF) will develop 100 km of road and 92 metres of bridge.
