How To Make Learning Interesting and fun?

It is often a challenge to make learning fun to the students, being a teacher or parent. If traditional methods of teaching seem no more engaging, the time has come to think outside the box. Individual learning, innovative and methods based on technology have captured the attention of many students. Byju’s brings you some of the most effective ideas that can make learning fun and exciting.

Incorporate the student’s Interests:

When the student's interests are appealed, it gets interesting to engage them and make them involved in the concepts. Allow the students to share their topics and suggestions like games, apps or any other field of interests that like and want to share with the class. For instance, if the child is interested in cars, relate it to any machinery concept and indulge him various features and functions that his car can perform while he is driving. Or, if she likes music, you can make use of music sheets to describe fractions.

Incorporate Technology:

Anything which is watchable, funny and engaging is bound to attract students and make them feel exciting about any aspect, and this can be done by integrating technology in classroom sessions. These activities can include video classes on tablets and online NCERT solutions along with mind games. Children love technology and if learning needs to be interesting, then making technology a part of education is the best idea.

Some ideas are mentioned below:
If research has to be done on a project, students can search on the internet than going for reference books and save a lot of time.
Students can solve puzzles and stories that relate to your English lesson.
Video conferencing technology can make students travel the world sitting in the classroom.
Powerpoint presentations can be used along with lectures.
Let the students review podcasts on school computers.

Take the students to field trips:

Field trips provide the opportunity to connect with the abstract concepts that they learn about the real world in the classroom. Select field trips that promotes learning. For example, the students can be taken to state’s capitol building if they are being taught about nation’s government.

Children can also be taken to an art museum to see the historical painting or sites to experience the country’s history.

Let the students use their imaginations:

Students should be allowed to express their creativity and instead of limiting their imagination. Their creativity can be fostered by designing lessons that encourage arts and crafts and role playing.

Ask young children to dress up according to the subject for formal presentation when studying historical figures.

Have Group Discussions:

Assign group discussion sessions at least two days of the week. Group discussion develops their communication skills, express and share their ideas and knowledge with others. These sessions can also be helpful because students can obtain more knowledge along with solving CBSE sample papers with their classmates in a friendly environment. The teachers can take an active role in developing a competitive atmosphere by making separate teams of students on for and against social issues. Such activities enhance student’s personalities and their contribution to nation's economy.
